October is the month of one of the largest money making, and family holidays of the fall, and that is Halloween. However, October is also Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. This month I will not post about Halloween, I will post about domestic abuse as it applies to all involved.  This month I will cover intimate partner violence (most know as domestic abuse), elder abuse, sibling abuse, and child abuse.  Here is how it is covered over the next month.

Types of abuse intimate partner violence include.

Economic/ Financial Abuse (Here)

Physical Abuse (Here)

Sexual Abuse (Here)

Emotional Abuse (include verbal abuse) (Here)

Child Abuse (Here)

Sibling Abuse (Here)

Elder Abuse (Here)

Domestic violence is an abuse that takes place in the home and most notable seen between spouses. However, sibling and elderly abuse are under-reported and just as damaging. Child abuse is often seen and unreported until it is too late. Last year Georgia saw over 100 children deaths and at least 50 were due to abuse (children were beaten or starved death) and these were the children CPS (child protective services) were looking into. If you suspect child or elder abuse do not sit back and watch, in some cases (like sibling abuse) it is hard to know what to do but in other cases please check with your state on giving an anonymous tip or just call the police.

This post will be updated as I update my blog.
